SUPERVISED THERAPEUTIC VISITATION
The most common reasons for the Court ordering supervised therapeutic visitation are as follows:
1) Proven history or allegations of parental abuse of the child, child neglect, and/or domestic violence of family member.
3)Impairment of parenting due to a psychiatric illness.
4) Parental threat to abduct the child.
Karen Grais Meyer will initially meet with each parent individually to obtain history and identify goals for therapy. Karen will meet with the child with the residential parent and individually. Karen will meet with the visiting parent and child and attempt to work through the problems, and determine if/when unsupervised visitation is in the child's best interest. This therapy might take place for a predetermined number of sessions, depending on the situation.
